Lael Wilcox rides through Marin
Lael Wilcox is coming to town! In case you haven't heard, Lael Wilcox is an ultra distance champion bike rider who is attempting to become the fastest woman to ride around the world; she is on track to make it. She should be riding south through Marin soon, probably Monday August 26 in the afternoon, but there is so much uncertainty about the time estimate. You can follow her
live tracker
and read more about her
here
. In other places, she has attracted crowds with signs, cookies, and bicycle riders. Let's give her the same love here.
We will meet her in Fairfax, at the corner of Claus Dr. and Sir Francis Drake Blvd, across the street from the Bicycle Museum. She's heading south to the Golden Gate Bridge. Accompany her as far as you can (she's fast).
When:
Monday, August 26, 2024, 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada) (UTC-08:00)
Where:
Marin Museum of Bicycling
1966 Sir Francis Drake Blvd
Fairfax, CA 94930

If you are interested in riding with Lael, then register for this "event." We will update you via email and/or text with a better time window estimate, which could be early in the morning or late at night. And don't forget to bring your patience. She usually rides from about 8 am to 10 pm or so and covers about 160 - 180 miles a day.
