Last week our cycling community lost a very important and special person who was also for many of us, our favorite mechanic. Tim Brennan, bike mechanic at Tam Bikes, died suddenly on November 10 of complications related to diabetes and high blood pressure. Tim was a great human being and a fascinating and talented person. He defied the stereotype of the grumpy mechanic. For many of us, Tim was not only a phenomenal mechanic, but also unfailingly helpful, welcoming and endlessly patient with anyone lucky enough to have him work on their bike. He also had wide and eclectic interests, including a passion for anything with wheels, music, watches, and skateboards. Tim also worked extensively with national caliber professional women’s teams, including TWENTY24 that will be representing the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
He made each bike shop he worked at over the years a more special place and had a legion of bike riders that followed him to each stop/shop in his career progression.
He will be missed and remembered!
