Marin Century Compact Classic Preview Multi Levels* 3 Routes: 66mi/57mi/30mi (Paul, Helen & Jeff)

We are partnering with Canyon Bikes and Trailhead Cafe for an outstanding Marin Cyclists Saturday ride!

We have 3  routes:  1) a sneak preview of the Marin Century 2023 Compact Classic Route  66 miles/+4,400'/B pace/4     2) a slightly cropped version of the preview route minus the northern loop, 57 miles/ +3,800'/AB Pace/3   3)  an A ride that rolls to Walker Creek Ranch and back  30 miles/+1,800'  under the supervision of Jeff Sanchez.   Each ride is spectacular on its own!

All rides will start and end at Trailhead 155 San Marin Drive (X San Andreas Dr) Novato CA.  Grab some coffee and snacks at Trailhead before the ride!

Meet: 9:00AM/ Roll: 9:15AM

Follow Paul Smith, our Marin Century Ride Director and preview the Marin Century 2023 Compact Classic 66 miles route, B Pace (14.1-16.0 mph overall average pace).   Come say hello!  We will warm up our quads on Wilson Hill, then on to the Chileno Valley Rd rollers, Valley Ford Rd to Fallon, Dillon Beach Rd to Tomales for a brief food and drink regroup, Hwy 1, Marshall, and then Marshall Petaluma Rd back.  The route will give your climbing legs a good workout coupled with pleasing rollers and spectacular scenery.

Classic Compact Preview 66 mi

For the moderate AB pace (12.0 -13.5 mph overall average pace) course join Helen Kwong for an equally challenging and slightly shortened Compact Classic Route minus the northern section.   At mile 23.5, instead of a right turn on Alexander Rd we will continue straight on Tomales Petaluma Rd and make our way to Tomales Community Park for a brief food, water and restroom stop.  Then we pick up the Compact Century route again, Marshall, Marshall Petaluma Rd back and so forth.  There will be a final water/restrooms stop at Stafford Lake Park and it's smooth sailing all the way back to the start.

AB Pace Route 57 mi

For the A pace, Jeff Sanchez our Events Director extraordinaire will lead a relaxed A pace (10 -12 mph overall average pace) for a pleasing out and back route to Walker Creek Ranch; a perfect course for for those looking for a nice recovery spin,  wanting to check us out, or are new to the club or coming back to cycling.
