Show off your fancy cycling duds and come on out for our 3rd Women's Social Sunday Ride, Cookies in the Park that starts at the Pinole Senior Center Building in Pinole, CA and concludes at the Butter Pecan Bakeshop in Pinole. We will be touring in Contra Costa County. Meet at 9:15AM and roll at 9:30AM. Melissa Jacobson and Lorraine Trautwein will lead and Helen Kwong will sweep this ride. We will begin along the Carquinez bayfront in a clockwise direction passing several towns, detour at Port Costa for a photo op, continue on Carquinez Scenic Drive, then loop back via Alhambra Valley; save your legs for a gradual 800' climb on Pig Farm Hill and we return via Pinole Valley Road. Stay for the raffle drawing at the end; one lucky finisher will be selected.
This is a SOCIAL GROUP ride; a steady pace of 12-13 mph average will be maintained during the entire ride (a little faster on the flats.) The intent is to ride together as a group, have fun and get to know each other.
Women only ride. Please invite your friends who might be up for a ride of this distance and climbing. We’d love for them to become new members of The Marin Cyclists. All riders, including non-members, must register online in advance.
