About this event
Meet at 8:15AM/Wheels Roll at 8:30AM from Marinwood Community Center
Roll with Oren or Helen for a route that has a little bit of everything, bike path, downtown, bridge, water, Bay Trail, a gentle meandering climb on a residential street, Inspiration Point summit, a triple set of quad burners in the middle of the ride where you can let it rip, a final 700' little kicker and the reward, a slice + garlic knots at Raymond's Pizzeria at Pt. Richmond before heading back across the bridge.
We'll start at the Marinwood Community Center but feel free to time things out and hop on at any point to join us. We'll head south through San Rafael and cross the bridge to the East Bay. We'll catch the Bay Trail to Berkeley where we'll take the classic gentle approach via Spruce Avenue to the Inspiration Point summit; the AB Pace route turns around at this point. The B Pace Route on the other hand drops down on Wildcat Canyon to the 15 mile Three Bears Loop, a final 700 footer back to Inspiration Pt and the rest is history.
Two Route options:
AB Pace Route with Helen Kwong
To Inspiration Point 59mi/ +2,700'
Just like the B Pace 80 miles route but the ride turns around at Inspiration Point at Tilden Park; we omit the 3 Bears Loop. 12.0-13.5 mph average overall speed, a little faster on the flats. Please download the route. Regroups at major turns and definitely a stop at Raymond's Pizzeria at Pt. Richmond before heading home.
B Pace Route with Oren Levy.
East Bay Three Bears Adventure 80mi/+4,900'
Regroups and Rest Stops:
*We'll stay together as a group as we go through the cities. Once we get to the Three Bears Loops, everyone can feel free to go full throttle and we'll regroup at the end of the loop to ride back together.
*We'll stop at Raymond's Pizzeria 130 Railroad Avenue, Pt. Richmond. CA. Map , where the slices are hot, the beer is cold and the garlic knots are aplenty!
