September Gravel Ride-Mt. Tam/Bolinas Ridge/Olema 54/AB/Gravel No Drop
About this event
Join us this Saturday, 9/10/22 for a no drop gravel ride up to Mt. Tam's East Peak via Old Railroad Grade, then via Ridgecrest Rd to Bolinas Ridge, Randall and via Olema Valley Trail over to Olema.
Start/end location is at Corte Madera Town Park, Pixley Avenue Side.
Be prepared to ride on some rocky patches and over tree roots; there are some short steeper sections (up and down) too. Randall is about -9% to -16%, a wide trail in good condition with 3-4 bumps, but overall rideable. We will stop at Olema Market for coffee before we make our way via Fairfax to Corte Madera. We have an optional stop at Splitrock Tap and Wheel (2020 Sir Francis Drake, Fairfax CA 94930) for those of you who may be hungry or thirsty and we will decide as we go. Some riders may head home from here.
The ride officially ends at Corte Madera Town Park. The route has multiple options to cut it shorter / skip gravel sections and I can point these out. This is a no drop ride and we'll re-group regularly. On the gravel section (and on the road) we'll prioritise riding safely to avoid any injuries.

Don't be shy about walking your bike in case you feel uncomfortable riding over certain terrains.
I will have basic tools with me, but it's important that you check your bike and bring spare tubes, a pump/CO2. We will be remote and it may be a bit of a hike until there are cars.
Please bring plenty of water, snacks and also layers depending on the weather. This route is not suitable for road bikes and your gravel bike with disk brakes will help you handle this ride well! MTB of course too, but we will ride 30M road, so please keep that in mind.
There are multiple restrooms and a few opportunities to refill water bottles along the way and we’ll stop as needed.
