Marin Century Training with Coach Adrian Bennett -- Nicasio Valley Loop (22 miles/Social/Margie)
About this event

Train with us for the Marin Century! This ride is the first of 13 consecutive Sundays, gradually progressing, to prepare you to finish the 100 mile Marin Century on August 1.
Professional Coach Adrian Bennett, from Achieve Performance Training & Coaching will lead the ride and offer sage advice about training best practices. That's him balancing on his bike in this picture. He will teach you how to prioritize rest and recovery, hydrate and fuel, and optimize high intensity workouts.
The route is a well-known, beautiful, 22 mile loop around the Nicasio reservoir and the San Geronimo Valley. It's mostly rolling with one climb towards the end. Pace will be social to leisurely, averaging 10 - 14 mph moving speed, depending on the riders.
Starting location is the old San Geronimo golf course (not San Geronimo Community Center). We will start promptly at 9:30 am.
Road bikes with slick tires are recommended. Make sure you have at least one, full, large water bottle. Carry a couple of snacks in your jersey pockets. There are portable toilets at the start, mile 5, and mile 17.
You can join whether you are riding the Century or not.
