Walt's Somewhere Over The Rainbow Ride 44 A/B 4

About this event

Walt’s naturally green skin and magical powers have faded over time, and he no longer has the ability to hop on his bicycle and ride it through a tornado to the magical land of Oz. He can still, however, hop on his bicycle and ride it to a place almost as elusive and exotic--the magical kingdom of Bolinas. Hazards include White's Hill, the Olema Hill, Highway 1, and the Bolinas-Fairfax road.  There is also the chance of being apprehended by the Bolinas Border Patrol, but that is hopefully an unlikely one, as is the chance of being carried away by flying monkeys. Note that Walt will not attempt to rescue you if either of these two unlikely events occur.

Please join Walt when he rides his bicycle to a land that time and CalTrans forgot. Mileage, elevation, and time depend on the route but will probably be at least 44 miles with at least 4200 vertical feet of climbing at an A/B pace. The East Peak of Mt. Tam is an option. Possible coffee stop in Bolinas. Possible food & drink afterwards in Fairfax.

Riders will meet at the Fairfax cyclery at 9:00 Sunday morning on April 23, with the ride starting at 9:15. The final route choice depends on the participants. Due to the steep hills involved this is not suitable as a beginner ride. Rain, tornadoes, or falling houses will all result in cancellation. Helmets and good attitudes are essential.

Walt can be reached in the evening at (415) 457 - 2662 or emailed at WMeservey@gmail.com.
